Organised Delegation of NZ technology education entrepreneurs visited XiangYang Hubei

From 20 to 22 Nov 2023, NZ Economy Trade Cultural Association organized a delegation of NZ technology education entrepreneurs to visit advanced enterprises, the Chinese Heroes Museum, the hometown of historical celebrities in XiangYang Hubei, and visited high-tech zones, bonded zones, logistics, e-commerce broadcast rooms, real estate development zones, Chinese culture exhibition halls, historic cities, ancient buildings, experienced modern cultural tourism…..

 

The delegates were fascinated, broadened their horizons, learned advanced business ideas and experiences, and experienced the breadth and depth of Chinese culture!

XianNing Government and NZ Hubei ETC Association co-organised the “Conference of Overseas Chinese Pioneer Development” NZ- XianNing Special Event

On 17 November 2023, the People’s Government of XianNing City and the NZ Hubei Economy Trade Culture Association Co-organized the “Overseas Chinese gather in XianNing, With the theme of “Building Dreams with One Heart”, the NZ – XianNing special event invited more than 160 experts and entrepreneurs from New Zealand, and overseas Chinese enterprises from Australia, Kenya, Germany, South Africa, Canada, Malaysia and other countries to gather together in XianNing Country Garden Hotel. This activity is divided into the opening ceremony, academician expert forum, project roadshow, project signing, “overseas Chinese Covenant” inspection and exchange. At the NZ special event in XianNing, the New Zealand representatives delivered wonderful speeches.

On 15 ~23 Nov 2023, NZ Hubei Economy Trade Culture Association organized the NZ Delegation to visit Wuhan, XianNing, and XangYang cities in Hubei China, attending 23th Conference of Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in Wuhan, and co-organized NZ Special session of the Conference in XianNing, and made speeches.

From 15 to 21 November 2023, the Hubei Economy Trade Culture Association organized a New Zealand delegation to visit Wuhan, Hubei, China, to participate in the 23rd Overseas Chinese Pioneer and Development Conference held in Wuhan. And visited XianNing, XiangYang City.

Delegation members are formed by the Technology, Education, and Entrepreneurs of NZ. They were warmly welcomed and extremely well treated by 3 cities’ government organizations.

This was one of the best experiences of NZ China people-to-people mutual understanding, exchanging, and learning.

Organised NZ Delegation to visit schools in Wuhan and XianNing Hubei China

On 17 Nov 2023, NZ Technology Education Entrepreneur Delegation visited South Hubei High School in XianNing Hubei, discussed and exchanged teaching experience, enhanced mutual understanding, and built up friendships.

On 15 Nov 2023, NZ Technology Education Entrepreneur Delegation visited the Wuhan Yangzi Experimental School in Wuhan Hubei, discussed and exchanged teaching experience, enhanced mutual understanding, interacted with students, and built up friendships.

Culture Festival — In Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of NZ-China Diplomatic Ties and the 7 years Sister City relationship between Waimakariri and Enshi

On the night of September 2nd 2022, NZ Hubei Economy Trade Cultural Association and Rangiora Library held a unique cultural festival with art and literature charm. At Rangiora Library, a large China and New Zealand cultural exchange event for the first time showcased ancient and modern Chinese and foreign poetry, Maori, NZ and Chinese music, dance, Chinese calligraphy, paintings, Enshi photography exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and New Zealand, and 7 years of sister city between Waimakariri and Enshi.

 

Dan Gordon, Mayor of Waimakariri, Matt Doocey, MP of NZ, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Christchurch He Ying, direct HongYan Liao and other Consuls, Candy Wu Zhang, Senior Diversity and Engagement Adviser of The Office of Ethnic Communities, Wendy Doody, councilor of Oxford、Ohoka of Waimakariri, Latham Martin, councilor of Westland, David Stringer, Chairman of Christchurch NZ China Friendship Society, Michelle MacWilliam, Chairman of Christchurch Sister city committee, Dr Yafei Zhou, president of NZ Hubei Economy Trade Culture Association, and other guests attended the event with great interest and delivered speeches. More than 100 guests, including well-known New Zealand poets, writers, entrepreneurs, representatives of the Chinese community and overseas Chinese, principals and representatives of local schools, and lovers of literature and poetry attended the event.

The 3rd Wuhan International Children’s Art Contest and on-line, off-line Exhibition

On 2nd Jan 2021, the 3rd Wuhan International Children’s Art Competition and Exhibition, organized by Hubei Academy of Calligraphy and Painting and NZ Hubei Economic Trade Cultural Association, supported by Hubei and Wuhan People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, opened as scheduled successfully. The theme of the Competition/Exhibition is “Unit Together and Fight Covid-19”.

In the special period of global Fighting the Covid-19, the event still attracts the continuous attention and active participation of many institutions and children’s art lovers at Wuhan and abroad. There were more than 2000 entries from 5 ~ 16 years old for the event, 480 outstanding artworks were selected and awarded for the exhibition in Wuhan.

Due to the impact of the Covid-19, foreign artworks participated in an online exhibition for the whole month of Jan 2021 through multi-media channels and platforms of China, to show children’s creativity, fun, and fight Covid-19 stories. About 25 excellent artworks were selected from Christchurch schools for the online exhibition.

For this unforgettable life memory, children from Wuhan and other countries, with their vision and strong feelings, depicted the most unforgettable moments in their hearts in 2020.

Gift face masks to pass the care from our association and Hubei government

In later May 2020, Hubei Provincial People’s Government of China gift 30,000 medical face masks to NZ Hubei Economic Trade Cultural Association, they finally arrived in Christchurch in August. The warmth and love of the motherland are all in it!

In order to make the customs clearance go smoothly, the executive president Dr Gong Qin of NZ Hubei Economic Trade Cultural Association, paid more than two thousand NZD for import GST for NZ customs clearance.

On 9th August, some NZ Chinese delegates and association members gathered together, received the masks, feeling the warmth, thanking the motherland, and obtained the positive strength to fight against Covid-19 virus!

Deputy president Yang Zhou (right) told everyone the stories and main activities of the association during the protection and fighting Covid-19 period:

(1) In February, a sudden Covid-19 ravaged Wuhan. Our association organized fundraising to help Wuhan fight the Covid-19 outbreak. Members of the association and Christchurch friends donated $11420 to one of the Hospital in Wuhan, also, association’s members in New Zealand, Beijing, Wuhan, Hunan, and Guilin organized purchasing a large number of medical protection materials for the prevention Covid-19 then donated to Wuhan to fight with the pandemic!

(2) In early April, co-organized with the Wuhan People’s Friendship with Foreign Countries Association: Online Art Exhibition. This large-scale online painting, calligraphy and poetry exhibition gathers excellent works by foreign calligraphy and painting masters and poets, and has been exhibited online on more than a dozen Chinese and foreign websites and WeChat platforms for more than a month;

(3) In early April, the house was isolated, and cities were locked down in NZ. the second half of the anti-epidemic battle was fought: Association members and friends living in different places of residence showed online rich and wonderful videos, audios, calligraphy, and painting works of art and photography. Everyone strictly quarantined their homes and took practical actions to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus! In this extraordinary period, you can stay healthy, enjoy fun, experience, and exciting!

At the time of Aug, when the Covid-19 virus was spreading in the New Zealand community, the association distributed these loving face masks donated by the Hubei Provincial People’s Government to association’s members, delegates of Chinese New Zealanders, and some local organizations, organizations of the Christchurch city council and Waimakariri district council, and the associations, companies, schools, enterprise, and individuals whom supported and co-operated with our association in recent years, in a number of friendly exchange and culture exchange activities between NZ and China. Allowed face masks to convey the support and care of the Chinese government and our association, to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Under the promotion of our association, Waimakariri and Enshi Prefecture, Hubei, established a sister city friendship four years ago.

The association gifted face masks to Mayor Dan Gordon (left 2) and Deputy Mayor Neville Atkinson (left 1). They will be distributed to food bank staff and community citizens who need masks to help prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

The association gifted face masks to CALD Health Manager of Pegasus Health Canterbury/Christchurch (left). They will be distributed to migrants, families, and community citizens who need masks to help prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

The association gifted face masks to the president of Christchurch NZ China Friendship Society and chair of Christchurch sister city committee Michelle MacWilliam (right 3). They will gift to Christchurch women and children migrants and refugees support group.

The Deputy Mayor of Christchurch city council Andrew Turner and the representatives of all parties who received the face masks sent letters and emails to express their thanks toward our association!

The virus is ruthless, there is love in the world, the face masks from motherland warms people’s hearts, and everyone helps each other, to fight the Covid-19 virus outbreak!

With the joint efforts of humans, this battle of Covid-19 virus epidemic prevention and control will surely be won!
